EMPOWER Project – Special Education, Equal Opportunity
At the heart of Nora Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity lies the EMPOWER Project — a transformative initiative aimed at providing quality, inclusive education to children with disabilities across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Recognizing the immense potential within every child, this project was launched to ensure that children with special needs are not left behind but are given the tools, environment, and support to truly thrive and flourish.
Inclusive Learning Through Special Schools
Under the EMPOWER Project, Nora Foundation proudly operates Special Schools for Children with Disabilities in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. These schools are built on the principles of accessibility, acceptance, and adaptability. Every aspect of the learning environment is carefully designed to be barrier-free, creating a space where children can learn with confidence, comfort, and dignity.
● Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs): Each child receives a personalized education plan tailored to their specific needs, learning pace, and developmental goals.
● Specialized Educators: Our trained teachers use adaptive teaching methods and inclusive tools to support children with various intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.
● Therapeutic Support: In-house therapy services including speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavior therapy, and psychological counseling are integrated into the child’s daily routine to support holistic development.
● Inclusive Culture: Beyond academics, we focus on nurturing social, emotional, and life skills, encouraging each child to participate in group activities, cultural events, and skill-building programs.
Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
For the first time, Nora Foundation is offering completely free, inclusive education to children with disabilities — an initiative that aims to dismantle both financial and societal barriers that often prevent families from accessing specialized education. Many families struggle not just with the cost of education, but also with the social stigma and lack of resources in mainstream schools. The EMPOWER Project changes that.
● No Tuition Fees: All educational and therapy services are provided free of charge, ensuring that no child is denied education due to financial hardship.
● Support for Parents: We also provide counseling, awareness sessions, and guidance to parents, helping them understand their child’s needs and become active participants in their growth.
● Community Engagement: Through awareness drives and community outreach, we are working to create a more inclusive society that embraces and celebrates differences.
